Holley's Biscuit Donut Recipe
- One PKG Whole Wheat Ready-to-Bake biscuits
- One Paper Bag
- 1/2 cup Splenda or other Splenda-like sweetener
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- About 3 inches Peanut Oil in a wide, high-sided pot
Heat oil until a spattering of water causes sizzling. Open biscuit can and separate biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters (4 pieces per biscuit). Combine Splenda, cinnamon and nutmeg in paper bag. Fry biscuit pieces until golden on both sides, making sure to flip when necessary. Fry about 6-8 pieces at a time. Drain on a paper-towel covered plate. Once all pieces are fried, place biscuit pieces in paper bag, about 4 pieces at a time. Shake vigorously. Remove each piece, being mindful to shake off excess seasoning. Repeat until all pieces have made their way through the paper bag.
Enjoy warm or at room temperature. DELICIOUS dipped in coffee or tea!
