About Mike Chinn
Mike has been playing and creating music since 1980. It all began with people like Neil Young, James Taylor, and Led Zeppelin. At the age of 13, he started playing guitar in the hallways and classrooms of school, at parties, church, for anyone who would listen.

When Mike was 17 he started playing in clubs, and by 20 was a full time musician, playing 6 nights a week, including weekends with a rockin blues band called The Urge.

By the early 1990's  Mike had recorded his first studio album called "Kelly's Basement", opened for Hall and Oates, and had played at numerous clubs and events for thousands of people in the Cincinnati area.

He had regular spots on 94.9 the Fox, doing parody songs for the morning radio show,  as well as, on location performances as a couple of different characters.

In the mid 90's Mike moved to Florida and put down the guitar for a while to focus on a family and raising a wonderful daughter. It was during this time he started a successful business called Mike Chinn Woodworking Inc. where the creative spirit could still flourish and provide a decent living.

With the new century came the desire to start playing and writing again. Mike has played with several bands in the last decade, one of which opened for some national acts like The Starship, Grand Funk Railroad, Rare Earth, The Rascals, and more.

In 2008, a second studio album of original material entitled "A Long Time Comin", was released. It was a fitting title to a career that was being reborn.

In 2009, 4 songs were signed to Crucial Music in LA, one of which was placed in the TNT series Saving Grace. A couple of instrumental peices were used in the show Kimora Life In The Fab Lane as well.

In 2010, Mike received his first publishing deal in Nashville with the song "Lovely Lonely Day". A new studio cd " Letter To Emma"  was released in October, featuring 12 new original songs.  7 more songs have been signed and hopefully find a good home in 2011.
