People who suffer from celiac disease will have more reason to celebrate than ever as the number of gluten-free products available continues to rise. Now there are new options available.  Find out how to keep the holidays delicious for those on gluten-free or gluten-restricted diets.

Alice Bast founded the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness based on her personal experience with celiac disease.  Her own diagnosis ignited her passion to help the estimated three million Americans with celiac disease receive prompt and accurate diagnosis.  Alice helped the foundation gain official nonprofit organization status in 2003 and began work on its dual mission of raising awareness to reduce the time to diagnose the illness as well as raising funds for research, education and screening that will improve the quality of life of those who suffer from celiac disease. 

Alice has joined a number of key committees responsible for promoting new approaches to health care and working to effect positive change in the communities they serve. These include National Institutes of Health, Ad Hoc Committee FDA Alliance, and Digestive Disease Coalition.
