Raise your fork in the fight against hunger during a night of exquisite dining and fine wine. Feeding America Tampa Bay, formerly named America's Second Harvest of Tampa Bay, is hosting its Fourth Annual Fork Fight fundraising dinner on Thursday, June 10, at the InterContinental Hotel Tampa.

The name Fork Fight is a reference to a standing joke among chefs - that their food is so good, people will pick up their forks and fight over it.  The Fork Fight gala, however, is a reminder that the fight against hunger is a year-round battle. The weak economy and rising unemployment has added to the need, with demands for food assistance increasing by up to 60 percent. More than 409,000 people, including 151,500 children, receive emergency food each year through Feeding America Tampa Bay. Fork Fight provides an opportunity for chefs to leave their egos at the door and come together for one common cause - ending hunger.

Help Feeding America Tampa Bay feed the hungry by enjoying cocktails and live music by saxophonist Alan Darcy from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. while bidding on donated pieces during the silent auction, including vacation packages, electronics and professional cookware. Dinner will follow from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., accompanied with a live auction, emceed by Russell Rhodes, Fox 13 Tampa news anchor, and a brief speech by Bo Davis, fellow food ambassador and Vice President of Operations at Mosaic Fertilizer.

The guest chefs preparing the evening's five-course meal are Chef Dan Tederous, The Capital Grille; Chef Eric Neri, Maritana Grille at the Don Cesar; Chef Marty Blitz, Mise en Place; Chef Clinton Combs, 400 Beach Seafood & Tap House; Chef Tyson Grant, Parkshore Grill; Chef Robert Mitchell, Seasons 52; and Chef Jonathan Luft, InterContinental Hotel Tampa.

Sponsors including Sykes, Sweetbay Supermarket, ADP, MetLife, Mosaic Fertilizer, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, The New York Yankees, PAR Inc., Sodexo and the Tampa Bay Rays make Fork Fight possible. Premier Beverage Company and Southern Wine and Spirits of Florida will generously donate select wines. One-hundred percent of the event's proceeds will go directly to Feeding America Tampa Bay and their efforts in ending hunger in its 10-county service area in west central Florida.

Fork Fight tickets are $150 per person and tables seating 10 are available for $1,500. For ticket information, table reservations, silent auction donations or to offer volunteer support, please contact Wendy Zella at wzella@feedingamericatampabay.org or (813) 254-1190 ex. 201.
