What to do After an Accident in Tampa, FL
The single most important step you can take after an accident of any kind in Tampa, Florida is to seek medical attention. If someone else was injured, be sure to call an ambulance on their behalf or to help them arrange transportation to a doctor or hospital, so they can receive the medical care they need. Even if you feel that you have not been seriously injured, it is important to see your physician. You may have suffered  whiplash or a similar injury that may not present itself immediately, and failing to seek medical attention right away can lead to complications or a more difficult road to recovery. In addition to seeking medical care, it is important to:

  • Take note of the scene of the accident, by taking pictures and writing down notes.
  • Get the contact information of any witnesses present.
  • Take pictures of your injuries.
  • Keep records of all of your medical care and any other expenses or losses that resulted from your accident or injury.
  • Do not talk to the other party's insurance company and give them a statement. They may be attempting to see if you can be held liable, and it is therefore best to have your attorney talk to the insurance company to avoid this.
