Okay, so the people who give away the big gold trophies technically count the first couple of weeks of January as "2008" because many of the "Oscar" films won't come out here in the bay area until this week or next.  However, they did come out in NY and L.A. before the stroke of midnight on January 1st, so you'll find them in the running for some of the major categories:  films like "Revolutionary Road" and "Doubt" will be given consideration by the academy, but for this "best of", I am only considering films that came out in 2008 for bay area residents.  There's no reason to be reflecting on films you haven't even seen yet! 

So, with that in mind...here are my top 5 in no particular order.  To learn their rank, you're going to have to watch our video clip!

• The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
• The Dark Knight
• Slumdog Millionaire
• Be Kind Rewind 

2009 promises to be a great year at the movies - keep watching Hooray for Holleywood on Studio 10 to stay up to date on what's coming to your local theater and whether or not it's worth your money.
