Legendary CBS Sports Anchor James Brown
Video: James Brown Speaks Out!
Legendary sports anchor James Brown is leading a new national campaign - A Man Can - to empower men to live a healthy manhood and end domestic violence.
Domestic violence remains the number one health concern for women in our country today and 85% of domestic violence is perpetrated by men against women. JB is calling on the millions of good men to hold this destructive minority accountable. Through A Man Can, pastors, teachers, coaches, doctors, politicians, businessmen and some of the most influential role models out there - professional athletes - are joining with JB to say that violence and disrespect against women - or anyone else - are not OK.
JB advocates that if men simply embrace a healthy manhood, there will be no domestic violence. And for men who witness disrespectful or abusive behavior, they have to step up and speak out. In interviews on January 30th from Indianapolis, JB and Mike Mason, chief security officer for Verizon Communications, will discuss A Man Can and how every man can join.
James Brown serves as host for the CBS Television Network's NFL pre-game show, THE NFL TODAY. Brown hosts the award-winning INSIDE THE NFL on SHOWTIME alongside ana¬lysts Phil Simms, Cris Collinsworth and Warren Sapp. Brown's first book, Role of a Lifetime: Reflections on Faith, Family and Significant Living, relayed how he found the role he was meant to play, highlighting both the good and bad decisions he made along the way, teaching readers how to discover life's purpose for themselves. Throughout his career he has earned numerous awards, including three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Studio Host for THE NFL TODAY and FOX NFL Sunday, and Dick Schaap Memorial Award for Media Excellence. No stranger to charitable efforts, JB hosts the P.U.L.S.E. Awards, featuring "The JB Awards" where NFL players are honored for their outstanding community service.
