Gold Medalist Apolo Ohno
Video: Drink Milk!
People tend to put a lot of focus on what they put in their bodies before a workout. However, if you are serious about performing at your best, refueling after exercise is key in helping bodies recover and prepare for the next workout or competition. Experts agree that the two-hour window after exercise is an important, yet often neglected, part of a fitness routine.
Eight-time medalist speed skater Apolo Ohno will join some of America's most-loved athletes including Shawn Johnson, Diana Taurasi, and Chris Bosh, to support Refuel America, a new program that aims to shine the spotlight on post-exercise nutrition and encourage America's athletes - no matter what sport they play - to make low fat chocolate milk their recovery sports drink-of-choice. In fact, in a series of four studies presented at the American College of Sports Medicine Conference in April, researchers found that chocolate milk offered a recovery advantage to help repair and rebuild muscles, compared to specially designed carbohydrate sports drinks.
