Whose research won top honors at the nation's premier science research competition for high school students?  Students submitted an unprecedented 1,541 projects for this year's Siemens Competition, the best of which could help answer our nation's most troubling medical mysteries and mathematical challenges.  National finalist,  Angela Zhang of Monta Vista High School in Cupertino, California focused her project 'of Image-guided, Photo-thermal Controlled Drug Releasing Multifunctional Nanosystem for the Treatment of Cancer Stem Cells'.  She among others were vying for scholarship money ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 for teams and individual competitors.

The Siemens Competition was launched in 1998 to recognize America's best and brightest science, technology, engineering and math students. Entries are judged at the regional level by esteemed scientists at six leading research universities and winners from there advance onto the National Finals.
