The fifth season of Tampa Bay Watch summer camps is around the corner and registration has already begun! Join them for some fun in the sun with marine ecology summer camps, and learn about amazing Tampa Bay and its inhabitants. If your child has an interest in marine science, this is their chance to discover more about it!
The camp curriculum is designed especially for Tampa Bay’s next generation of environmental stewards. The Sea Monkeys sessions are for 6-8 years olds and are limited to 20 campers per session. Sea monkeys has “A Pirate’s Life for Me” theme complete with costumes, crafting and racing miniature pirate ships, and sailing the high seas on our classroom boat searching for the real treasure of Tampa Bay its wildlife. Tampa Bay Discovery Camp is an all day camp for 9-14 years old which is limited to 25 campers per session. Some of its activities include scallop searching in the grass flats, snorkeling around Shell Key, seine net pulls, animal collection and identification, kayaking through the mangroves, salt marsh planting, and oyster bar creation.

Tampa Bay Watch is set in an ideal location on Cunningham Key, near the Shell Key Preserve, which provides summer campers with exciting, hands-on opportunities to learn about marine science and restoration projects. The property boasts rich mangrove forests, grass flats and shallow waters teeming with marine life. The Marine Center features indoor classrooms, outdoor wet labs and two 5,000 gallon touch tanks. The Tampa Bay Watch summer camp program is sponsored by Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Tampa Bay Watch trains and organizes citizen volunteers, students, at-risk youth, and civic organizations to participate in environmental projects while heightening community awareness of the fragile nature and importance of the environment.
