According to Meals On Wheels of Tampa, they are committed to a mission of Nourishing and Enriching the Independent Lives of the Homebound and Seniors! They serve approximately 500 individuals each day with a hot, nutritious meal delivered to their door by a friendly, caring volunteer. The quality food provides nourishment for their bodies, and the kind and encouraging words from volunteers provides enrichment for their soul. For some of the homebound, the visit from a volunteer delivering their food is the only human contact the recipient will have that day.

Meals On Wheels serves hot, nutritious meals to any individual who is a senior or homebound, either temporarily of permanently, regardless of age, special needs, or ability to pay, provided they live within the boundaries of the Delivery Area. In addition, Meals On Wheels also serves congregate facilities in need of food services to enable their programs.

Volunteers are the heart and the hands of Meals On Wheels of Tampa. Faithful and caring volunteers make it possible to serve the 500-600 recipients helped in our community each day. While the primary volunteer need is to deliver meals to one of the 49 routes run daily, there are many other opportunities as well. All donations, including your mileage, are tax deductible. Meals On Wheels appreciates its amazing group of volunteers!
