Les McDowell has been writing poetry since he was seventeen years old, and  comes by life's observations honestly.  He has led a colorful life as a horse trainer, blacksmith, trick roper and radio DJ; jotting down his thoughts and perceptions along the way.  

"Tales from the Trail" is an homage to Les' lifelong love of the American cowboy and a simpler way of life.   And while cowboys are front and center, Les says his book is really a slice of Americana.
