Winnie the Pooh Returns!
LOTTIE THE OTTER JOINS POOH AND FRIENDS IN WINNIE-THE-POOH SEQUEL
"Return to the Hundred Acre Wood" Debuts the New Character
On Sale October 5.
Author David Benedictus is delighted to have worked on this exciting
project: "It's an honor to have created this new adventure for
Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends, and it seemed only right that they have a
new friend to enjoy such an adventure with. Lottie the Otter truly embodies
Winnie-the-Poohıs values of friendship and adventure seen throughout Milneıs
work, thus making the perfect companion for everyoneıs favorite bear."
Michael Brown, Chairman of the Trustees of the Pooh Properties, said,
"Milneıs stories may have been written in 1920ıs England but they are set in
the enchanting world of a childıs imagination. Davidıs new stories,
including the new character, arise naturally out of that world and so, like
the original stories, are timeless. We hope the new character will appeal to
readers of all ages worldwide."
Kids all around the world will welcome back their fuzzy loveable friend with
open arms. And Winnie the Pooh is not alone: he is bringing an entourage:
Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo, Rabbit, and Owl. Of course
Christopher Robin will be there too.
Winnie the Pooh is unarguably one of the most recognizable characters in
childrenıs literature, as are his friends. Generations of children have
loved the Best Bear in All the World.
Alan Alexander (A.A.) Milne had already achieved modest success as a
humorist for Punch Magazine and as a playwright and mystery author. He might
never have written for children if it wasnıt for the birth of his son,
Christopher Robin Milne in 1920. A small bear from Harrodıs department store
that was named for a popular bear attraction at the London Zoo, and a swam
on the familyıs country property. Winnie-the-Pooh was first published in
1926 and is currently available in 50 languages around the world.
David Benedictus adapted and produced the audio adaptations of
Winnie-the-Pooh starring Dame Judi Dench, Stephen Fry and Jane Horrocks. His second novel was filmed by Francis Ford Coppola. He has worked as assistant to Trevor Nunn at the RSC, was Commissioning Editor for Drama series at Channel 4, and ran The Book At Bedtime for BBC Radio.
